Privacy policy

Blazebuddy (blazebuddy.com) is run by Extracted Agency ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to follow Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA), British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and Quebec's Law 25.

The short version

• You can use the site without an account and without giving us any personal information.
• Google Analytics only runs if you click Accept. If you decline or do nothing, it never loads.
• If you use the contact form, we use your name and email only to reply to you.
• We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't run ads.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics (only with your consent). If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC. It sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to measure visits and how pages are used, such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and whether the contact form was sent (with the topic you chose, never your name, email or message). We use this only to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. We don't use it for advertising and don't link it to your identity. Google retains this data for up to 14 months. If you decline, or haven't chosen yet, Google Analytics isn't loaded and no request is sent to Google.

Ahrefs Web Analytics. We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, provided by Ahrefs, to count visits and see which pages are popular and how visitors find the site. Ahrefs describes it as cookie-free: it sets no cookies and isn't used to identify you or follow you across other sites, so it runs without the cookie banner. To produce these aggregate statistics, Ahrefs receives standard request data such as your IP address and browser details.

Cloudflare Web Analytics. We also use Cloudflare's privacy-focused analytics, which counts page views and measures page speed without cookies, without local storage and without tracking you across sites. It runs without consent because it isn't used to identify you.

Your choice is remembered. We store your Accept or Decline choice in your browser's local storage (bb-analytics-consent) so we don't ask again. You can change it anytime with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent deletes the Google Analytics cookies.

Hosting and security

The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare handles this under its own privacy policy, and we don't use it to identify visitors.

Contact form

If you send us a message, we collect your name, email address, topic and message, and use them only to respond and to keep a record of the conversation. Messages are processed and stored by our form provider, Formspree, Inc. We keep messages for up to 24 months, then delete them, unless we need them longer to resolve an ongoing issue.

Reddit quotes

Our rankings quote short excerpts of public Reddit comments and link to the original. We don't display Reddit usernames. If you wrote a quoted comment and want it removed from Blazebuddy, contact us with the link, and we'll remove it. Deleting the comment on Reddit also removes it at our next data refresh.

Where your information is stored

Google, Cloudflare, Ahrefs and Formspree may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We choose providers with appropriate safeguards and use them only for the purposes above.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent. We'll respond within 30 days. To make a request, use the contact form and choose "Privacy request". If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Age

Blazebuddy is intended for adults of legal age to buy cannabis in their province. We don't knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a significant change to how we use personal information, we'll ask for your consent again where required.
